About Sabina


Lydia Sabina Ayot has been working in community development for over five years.  She grew up in the Kibera community and has vast knowledge and connections with local community groups and organizations.  She began hosting volunteers in her home on the outskirts of Kibera in 2009 and has had great success placing these volunteers with reputable and worthy institutions working in the informal settlements of Nairobi.

Professionally, Sabina is a social worker having trained with Premese Development Institute.  She has worked with Kibera UK, a UK- based charitable organization since 2009.  In 2010, she joined the orientation team of the American University study abroad program in Nairobi, Kenya helping students American students settle in to life in Nairobi.  She frequently volunteers at St. Martin's school in Mashimoni village in Kibera and consults with various local development agencies on wide-ranging issues.

Sabina loves learning about and sharing cultures and looks forward to welcoming you to her home.
